Mindfulness Meditation, Breathwork and Yoga Day Retreat

Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery through a blend of ancient wisdom and contemporary research, this program aims to cultivate mindfulness, self-compassion, and foster overall well-being. Participants will delve into practices taught in the Buddhist and Vedanta traditions along with Chinese and Japanese medicine, combined with modern insights from somatic and positive psychology.

Through guided exercises, discussions, and reflections, and self healing body based practices, individuals will discover their profound impact on personal well-being and interpersonal relationships.

This day retreat is suitable for beginners and more advanced practitioners.

  • Guided Mindfulness Practices: Learn traditional Eastern meditation practices and philosphy to cultivate present moment awareness, reduce stress, calm and sooth the nervous system and increase resilience.

  • Using a blend of traditonal Buddhist and Western meditation practices, develop greater self-awareness and emotional integration as you explore the landscape of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations to help heal old emotional pattens and cultivate emotional balance.

  • Self-Compassion Practice: Discover the healing power of self-compassion through traditional Buddhist practice. Explore strategies to overcome self-criticism, develop greater self-acceptance, and cultivate a kinder relationship with yourself and enhance your relationships with others.

  • Nourish Your Body: Indulge in a wholesome, nourishing meal. Savor the flavors of locally sourced, vegetarian cuisine that nourishes your body.

  • Yoga: Stretch and Release: Allow yourself to unwind and release tension with restorative yoga and self-shiatsu sessions which will be appropriate for all levels of experience. Sink into deep relaxation as you gently lengthen and strengthen your body, calm your mind, and renew your spirit. Adaptions to yoga postures are offered for all levels of experience.

  • Breathwork: Learn and practice traditional pranayama practices to soothe the body and mind as tools for taking into daily life.

  • Learn how to set up a daily meditation practice and ways to work with the obstacles and challenges that arise along the journey.

About the Presenters:

  • Virginia Golding BA (Psych,Phil, MASW) is a psychotherapist and meditation teacher with over 20 years experience facilitating workshops and retreats in Buddhist meditation, philosophy and western psychology. Virginia has been a student and practitioner of Buddhism and the Advaita Vedanta traditions for over 25 years, studying in both India and Australia under a number of teachers, and currently with of Yangten Rinpoche (attendant to His Holiness the Dalai Lama)
